Three Peaks Challenge raises over £5000!

2 minute read

A huge achievement

A massive thank you to the incredible Blenheim and Pye Homes Three Peaks Team – who have raised an amazing £5,584 for us by taking on the famous Three Peaks Challenge earlier this summer.

“It was much harder than some of us thought,” laughed Chris Monaghan, Clerk of Works at Blenheim Palace, pictured handing the cheque to Dementia Oxfordshire’s local Dementia Adviser Maria Kempson. “But dementia has touched so many of our families, so we were delighted to raise so much for such a good cause.”

Well trodden path

The Three Peaks challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains in England (Scafell Pike), Wales (Snowdon) and Scotland (Ben Nevis) within 24 hours, with a total climb of around 3000 metres!

Personal connection

Rachel, Marketing Officer for Pye Homes, nominated Dementia Oxfordshire as she had a very personal connection to the service. “We had just lost my nan, who had dementia, and my mum and I had found the Dementia Oxfordshire resources so helpful in her final years. It seemed a great way to give something back, and everyone we approached was so generous in sponsoring us.”

The money raised will go towards our work supporting people living with dementia and their families to live well.
