Peter Johnson, Head of Service for Dementia Oxfordshire commented:
“I am delighted that the service has been shortlisted for the UK Dementia Awards. This recognition reflects the commitment the team shows every day in delivering person centred support for both people living with dementia, and their families.
“We work closely with people with dementia and their carers through out ‘experts by experience’ group; this helps shape the service, especially our information sessions and dementia guides, ensuring the support we offer is relevant and useful and helping us support families to live better with dementia.
“I’m very proud of the team and and it’s wonderful to see their efforts acknowledged nationally —there is some tough competition in our category and we’re keeping our fingers crossed until the award ceremony at the end of April!”
