Dementia Oxfordshire on the BBC

A dementia round table discussion

To mark Dementia Action Week 2025, BBC Radio Oxford asked Dementia Oxfordshire to host a ’round table’ discussion.

Dementia Adviser Melissa Spearman – who regularly hosts our Experts by Experience groups –  headed off to the Radio Oxford Summertown studios with Glenn and Kath, both diagnosed with dementia, Christine – Glenn’s wife and carer, and Jan, who looked after her husband Bill until he died last year.

Honest and open

The honest and open conversation ranged from the impact of the initial diagnosis on everyone, through to strategies for living well with dementia, and touching on the profound effect on carers, as well as other family members and friends.

Excerpts from the conversation were broadcast on the Adam Ball show throughout the week. You can listen to those excerpts by clicking on the links below.
