World class researchers are working to understand the complex diseases that cause Dementia, they are building upon more than 100 years of scientific discoveries to translate breakthroughs in the lab into more effective diagnosis, a better understanding of risk factors, and symptom mitigating treatments. Ultimately the goal is to find a cure.
Work is taking place to look at how to use to enable earlier and more accurate diagnosis and to investigate risk factors throughout life that contribute to the development of Dementia.
There are many research projects taking place across the UK to improve our understanding of how dementia develops. By taking part in these projects you can support these efforts to find a cure. You may even get the chance to try out cutting-edge treatments.
Dementia Oxfordshire works closely with researchers in Oxfordshire and we encourage people to take part in the studies that are taking place locally. If you are interested in taking part in a study, please speak with your Dementia Adviser.
