New carers’ support group from NHS Talking Therapies

2 minute read

Free group using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

We know that looking after someone with dementia can be challenging, and carers can often find themselves feeling stressed, isolated, down, and worried. The good news is that help is available.

Oxfordshire Talking Therapies, an NHS mental health service, is running a free group designed to support people caring for someone with dementia. The group uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy strategies which are evidence-based and designed to support carers in their ability to deal with stress, cope with difficult thoughts and emotions, and understand dementia and their reaction to it.
