10 Year Celebrations get underway!

Cake and companionship

Back in November 2015, Age UK Oxfordshire launched its first dedicated dementia support service, Dementia Oxfordshire.

For the first time, people living with dementia and their informal and family carers would have ongoing support from a Dementia Adviser.

Today, Dementia Oxfordshire supports around 6000 people every year. To mark the 10th Anniversary of the service, we’ve been out and about around the county, enjoying celebratory cake and companionship with some of our regular groups.

Big Birthday Bash

This week, our City Team of Dementia Advisers hosted a Big Birthday Bash at The Ampleforth Arms in Headington.

Guests were entertained by pianist Nick Gill and vocalist Kelly Smith, taking everyone on a trip down memory lane with some old favourites!  The singalong was followed by a fabulous buffet and delicious birthday cake, and everyone went home with a goody bag!
