Marketing and Administration Assistant

About the role

Marketing and Administration Assistant:  You will provide marketing support to the service Marketing Officer, helping ensure the service’s digital presence is fresh, current, and updated with the latest information.

Specifically, our presence is maintained through our independent WordPress website and Facebook account, and through the Age UK Oxfordshire (AUKO) digital platforms. You will assist in the creation of marketing collateral to support the service Fundraising and Awareness team, using InDesign and Canva, ensuring the service brand remains aligned with the AUKO brand.

Additionally, you will have some administrative duties, responsible for coordinating the service referrals team, including taking your turn processing referrals, and coordinating the service support line.  These administrative duties will take approximately 10 hours per week.

Dementia Oxfordshire has its own brand, which is aligned to the AUKO brand, and has its own service marketing plan. You will assist the Marketing Officer in the development and delivery of that plan.

Overall, this role will help ensure the team can deliver the best support for those living with dementia and their carers, raise awareness about dementia generally and highlight the flagship of support provided in Oxfordshire.

You will report to the Head of Service and work closely with the service Marketing Officer and wider AUKO marketing team.

This is a Hybrid role combining home working with a physical presense at our offices in Abingdon at least one day a week.

I think the most important part of our role is to give information, advice and support in a person-centred way. And by that I mean it’s about valuing people living with dementia and their family carers. It’s about treating them as individuals. It’s about seeing things from their perspective and it’s about promoting a positive social environment.

About us

Dementia Oxfordshire is a service provided by Age UK Oxfordshire and is jointly funded by the County Council and NHS. We have three locality teams and a specialist Young Onset Dementia team. Our caseload increases year on year and we have recently received some additional funding that is allowing us to expand our team.

You will be joining a committed and tight-knit team who are proud of the service they provide, and always looking for ways to improve it.  We work hard to collaborate with other parts of the dementia support system in Oxfordshire and have strong links with GP practices and the memory clinics.
