Jane works in Oxford City and as well as being a Dementia Adviser coordinates our services in the city area. She has been with the service since November 2015 and previously held a number of other roles within Age UK Oxfordshire.
“I work closely with GP surgeries, memory clinics and other health professionals to ensure person centred care for our clients. I think it is important to work in the local community, supporting carers’ groups and raising awareness around dementia at a local level. I have collaborated with Oxford United Football Club, The Playhouse, museums and other organisations, to provide social opportunities for our clients. It is good to see Dementia Oxfordshire, the council and other organisations collaborating to ensure that people living with dementia have a wide range of activities open to them in the city.”
Jane has a background in education and the social sciences and holds an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Dementia Studies. She has been instrumental in developing a competency framework to ensure all Dementia Oxfordshire Advisers are trained consistently and work in both a professional manner and to a high standard.
