Dementia Oxfordshire offers FREE education sessions for the families of people living with dementia and others who are providing unpaid care (e.g. friends, volunteers).
Join us to learn more about how to help people living with dementia to live as fully and as positively as possible after their diagnosis. Our half-day (3 hours) sessions offer a chance to explore the unique experience of living with dementia within a friendly and welcoming group setting.
These sessions are designed to help families and carers to better understand the impact that dementia can have on a person physically, emotionally, and socially. We discuss the impact that dementia can have on family relationships; on changing communication; on recognising and supporting someone who may be experiencing distress and on enabling opportunities for inclusion as a person’s dementia progresses.
All of our sessions aim to identify ways that will help people with caring commitments to look after their own health and wellbeing.
