Active April ’22

This page contains information and details on how to sign-up to our Active April ’22 challenge.

Are you looking for your next challenge and want to make a difference to your community? Do you think you can run 22 miles, walk up 22 steps, lift your arms 22 times or hula hoop for 22 minutes? Or why not set your own challenge!

Studies show that regular exercise can reduce the risk of developing dementia (Source: Alzheimers Society). It also has positive effects on the general health and wellbeing of those with a dementia diagnosis. So, here at Dementia Oxfordshire, we are encouraging everyone; family, friends, carers and those living with dementia to get active during the month of April, whatever that means to you. Challenge yourself to something new, or something you haven’t done for a while; this can be anything from running, walking, scootering, standing, twisting, or wheelchair racing. No challenge is too big or too small.

Active April ‘22 starts on 1st April 2022, and there will be a prize for the most unique challenge and one other randomly selected. We ask for a £5 donation to Dementia Oxfordshire, to support the running of our service. This includes our Support Line, Carer Education Sessions, Memory Groups and Carer Support Groups. All these activities help to support people living with dementia, their carers and their relatives.
