Trish Heron

Lead Dementia Adviser
Brief info

Trish works in the Kidlington area and parts of Banbury. She coordinates our services in North and West Oxfordshire. She has been with the service since January 2018 and previously worked for the Alzheimer’s Society in Oxfordshire.

“I am passionate in my desire to support people with dementia, their family and their carers, to live well for as long as possible in their local community. My role is to act as a social prescriber (non-medical support) to help people remain active in their communities; avoiding loneliness and isolation which can have such a negative impact on the symptoms of the diagnosis.”

Trish has a background in early years and primary education where she trained in Play Therapy techniques whilst working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) children. She became involved in the dementia community in Oxfordshire following a close family member diagnosis of vascular dementia. She is currently studying for a Diploma in Dementia Studies.
