Andrew Dyer

Senior Dementia Adviser (Volunteering and Rural Development)
Brief info

Andrew joined the service in 2016 and works as an adviser in rural West Oxfordshire.

Andrew has been working with people living with Dementia since 2012, and previously worked as a Lifestyle Manager for a group of nursing homes.

‘‘My focus is to empower people to make their own decisions about their care and their future, and help them to access support that is available to them locally. Providing consultations in people’s homes helps them to relax and share with you how they are really feeling and what they may be finding difficult. The ‘keep in touch’ approach is great for building trust and enables me to support people through what can be a very challenging set of circumstances. I advocate for the holistic approach towards Dementia care and really enjoy learning interesting things about the people I support.’’
