Did you know that our local gas network, SGN, provides FREE locking gas cooker valves for older customers and people living with memory loss or dementia?

SGN’s locking gas cooker safety valve helps customers retain their independence at home and provides reassurance to family, friends and carers.

This simple safety device is fitted to existing gas cooker pipework. When the valve is locked, the gas supply to the cooker is stopped.

The safety valve eliminates the risk of the cooker being unintentionally turned on or left on, and gives peace of mind to the carer or relative that the cooker can’t be used when they leave the house or the room.

A carer or relative can easily turn the valve on using the key when the cooker is required, enabling people living with memory loss to continue to use their gas cooker safely.

SGN provide this free, award-winning device regardless of your gas supplier and will arrange for an engineer to fit it on your gas cooker at a convenient time for you.

You don’t need to change energy supplier nor inform your supplier about the device.
