Dementia Action Week

11th – 17th May

In previous years Dementia Oxfordshire actively hosted and attended events across Oxfordshire aiming to increase the awareness of dementia and offering local community support.

This year during this unprecedented time of COVID 19, we need to do things slightly differently. It is imperative that people with dementia and their families and carers are aware that they can still turn to us for support, especially if they are newly diagnosed and feeling a bit overwhelmed. So as a way of letting everyone know we are still here for them Dementia Oxfordshire have launched their Sunflower Campaign.

Sunflowers to Spread some Sunshine – Supporting people to live well with dementia in Oxfordshire

For Dementia Action Week this year please distribute this poster which can be coloured in and displayed in a window – let’s add a little more sunshine to those rainbows.

It is ideal for all ages and abilities children and adults, people can adapt it to their artistic skills with varying colours, shading etc.

Please share widely by email or Facebook with your Clients, Carers, family, friends, Memory Cafes, Carers Support Groups or local residential homes etc. Perhaps print a few and distribute them in your street?

Download Poster.

The Alzheimer’s Society will be rescheduling a full Dementia Action Week later in the year, to find out more follow this link.

You can make a positive difference for people in your community living with dementia by supporting Dementia Oxfordshire.  Find out more.
